When my husband read an early draft of this essay, he asked, "Why doesn't her partner have to support our daughter? After all, they agreed to raise children as Jews." What does it mean to raise a Jewish child?
A great way for Jewish professionals and volunteers who work with and provide programming for people in interfaith relationships to locate resources and trainings to build more welcome into their Jewish communities; connect with and learn from each other; and publicize and enhance their programs and services.
InterFaithways is excited to bring its 6th annual InterFaithways Family Shabbat Weekends to over 50 synagogues in the Greater Philadelphia area. During these two weeks, together we will bring a community-wide focus on the importance of interfaith families to the Jewish Community. Throughout the two weeks each participating congregation will present a program, host an event, or plan an activity that will celebrate and build the relationship between interfaith families and their congregation. Come enjoy speakers, workshops and other programming throughout the Delaware Valley. Get a taste of the richness and diversity of synagogue life within the Greater Philadelphia Jewish community and meet other interfaith families. Visit www.InterFaithways.org to see all the events participating synagogues have to offer.
