Our updated booklet, Weddings For The Interfaith Couple, walks you through all of the traditions for the big day, starting with two to think about in advance (choosing a wedding contract known as a ketubah and topics to consider when meeting with your wedding officiant).
Rabbi Mychal will be leading us in a discussion of interfaith relationships throughout Jewish history and the present challenges and opportunities they pose. This discussion will provide a foundation for the second part of the series in which we will explore the many realities of interfaith relationships, including challenges we have faced and our varied approaches to our own interfaith experiences.
A great way for Jewish professionals and volunteers who work with and provide programming for people in interfaith relationships to locate resources and trainings to build more welcome into their Jewish communities; connect with and learn from each other; and publicize and enhance their programs and services.
It’s a Maztah pizza-making Party just in time for Passover! The Mayerson JCC and Fusion Family invite interfaith families to Top Chef Tots, a hands on afternoon of culinary fun for the whole family on Sunday, March 10th at 4pm at the Mayerson JCC, 8485 Ridge Road. Move over plain old matzah… butter’s so boring; cream cheese is such a schnooze! It’s time to break with tradition and try something new. Make your own pizza, plus learn how to turn this dry crumbly cracker into a decadent dessert that’s sure to get raves. Also, enjoy an array of other fun Passover games and activities. RSVP to www.fusionnati.org by March 8th. Fusion Family is an initiative of The Mayerson Foundation for families in the Jewish Community with children 12 and under, and in which one parent is Jewish and the other is not, or in which one or both parents have converted to Judaism. Siblings and grandparents welcome!
