Our updated booklet, Weddings For The Interfaith Couple, walks you through all of the traditions for the big day, starting with two to think about in advance (choosing a wedding contract known as a ketubah and topics to consider when meeting with your wedding officiant).
Rabbi Mychal will be leading us in a discussion of interfaith relationships throughout Jewish history and the present challenges and opportunities they pose. This discussion will provide a foundation for the second part of the series in which we will explore the many realities of interfaith relationships, including challenges we have faced and our varied approaches to our own interfaith experiences.
A great way for Jewish professionals and volunteers who work with and provide programming for people in interfaith relationships to locate resources and trainings to build more welcome into their Jewish communities; connect with and learn from each other; and publicize and enhance their programs and services.
An outdoor Shabbat service will be held by congregation Kesher Shalom on Saturday, June 1, (10 a.m.-12 noon) at the Abington Arts Center.
This creative Shabbat service will take place at the Abington Art Center, 515 Meetinghouse Road, Jenkintown, Pa 19046. The art center is situated on a 27 acre sculpture park with beautiful, mature plantings and trees.
The inspiring service is led by Rabbi Sigal Brier, a popular international scholar and musician, who will be accompanied by talented musicians from the congregation.
In addition to musical offerings, a Jewish dialog including thought inspiring questions, and a presentation by the children of the Shalom School will also take place at the Shabbat.
Parents and children are encouraged to attend and a crafts station will be available to children 12 and under who attend the service.
