Description Sukkah City on the Big Screen -- coming soon to the Castro Theatre as part of the SF Jewish Film Festival. A project created by Rebooters Joshua Foer and Roger Bennett, Sukkah City 2010 captivated hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers with a overnight appearance of a temporary sukkah city in Union Square. Twelve winning entrants from a global architectural competition designed to reimagine the humble sukkah were displayed for two days. Featuring luminaries such as Michael Arad, Paul Goldberger and Maira Kalman, the film Sukkah City by director Jason Hutt chronicles the process of judging the entrants and the drama that ensued as the winning teams shifted from concept to construction. See it at the Castro Theatre – Tuesday, July 30 at 12:20 p.m. or at the California Theatre in Berkeley, August 4 at 11:45 a.m.
