Description Every Sunday and select school holidays from 1–3pm, families can experience a new adventure in art-making free with admission to the Contemporary Jewish Museum. As always, the hands-on fun inspires children to learn more about the exhibitions on display in the galleries, the building’s architecture, or holidays and traditions while experimenting with materials and art techniques. Sundays, August 4, 11, 18, & 25, 2013: Build it Big and Small In celebration of the exhibition Beyond Belief: 100 Years of the Spiritual in Modern Art, explore the processes of great modern artists like Rothko, Pollack, and Klee as you paint, sculpt, and explore the world of color in abstract art. How does the size of an artwork change your experience of it? Discover the importance of scale in sculpture as you add to a large collaborative installation and build your own miniature three-dimensional creation.
