Description Judaism 101 with Rabbi Susan Leider In partnership with the American Jewish University’s Miller Introduction to Judaism Program, and in association with the Osher Marin JCC & Congregation Rodef Sholom

Thurs October 10, 2013 – March 13, 2014. No class on November 28, December 19 & 26, January 2, 2014, and February 20.

You may sign up for the entire course or drop in for any of the specific sessions. Whatever your choice, if you desire a deeper connection to Judaism, are considering conversion, are searching for a definition of your own Jewish voice and identity or just desire to study joyously with others, this course is a great way to discover your identity and make some new friends at Kol Shofar.

Incorporating text and discussion on biblical and rabbinic writings history and culture, the meanings and metaphors of Jewish holiday celebrations, concepts of God and ethics, life cycle, Israel and basic Hebrew phonetics, this course enhances your connection to contemporary Jewish life and enables you to feel at home in synagogue and life cycle services. Rabbi Leider infuses her joy of learning through her teaching.

Cost: Full 18 sessions: $36 materials fee for Kol Shofar, JCC and Rodef Sholom members/ $54 for community members Drop-in on a class-by-class basis: $5 materials fee per class.
