A great way for Jewish professionals and volunteers who work with and provide programming for people in interfaith relationships to locate resources and trainings to build more welcome into their Jewish communities; connect with and learn from each other; and publicize and enhance their programs and services.
Gan HaLev, the Jewish Congregation in the San Geronimo Valley will be cosponsoring an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service. This is the 8th year that religious congregations in this West Marin community have come together for this annual celebration. This year our theme is music and we will be celebrating our gratitude for music from our various religious traditions. In addition to Gan HaLev, the event is cosponsored by the San Geronimo Community Presbyterian Church in San Geronimo and by St. Cecilia and St. Mary parishes in Lagunitas and Nicasio. This year’s host is St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Lagunitas. The event begins at 4pm. Everyone is invited regardless of any religious affiliation. The event is also an occasion for people to make donations to support the San Geronimo Valley Community Center’s Emergency Food Pantry Thanksgiving Food Distribution Program. Each year the Community Center distributes turkeys and thanksgiving food boxes to 200 needy families in our community.
