Type of Event Education
Description Mussar is a Jewish path of character development and spiritual growth leading to awareness, wisdom and transformation. Mussar provides guidance in identifying your uniquely personal path of spiritual growth and offers practices to help bring about that growth. You certainly don’t need to be Jewish to study and practice Mussar. Couples are encouraged to participate in the “Taste of Mussar” program together, but if only one partner (regardless of their religion) is available or wants to participate, they are welcome to join the class.

“A Taste of Mussar” will be offered on four Monday evenings, March 6, 13, and 20 and April 3 7:00-8:30 pm at Tribe Commons, 201 S. Camac Street, 2nd Floor, Philadelphia PA 19107. The class will not meet on March 27. More details about location will be provided upon registration.

If couples and individuals in the Taste of Mussar class are interested in continuing their study and practice of Mussar, a more in-depth ten session Mussar class, “Seeking Everyday Holiness,” will be offered in the fall of 2017. While participation in “A Taste of Mussar” is not a pre-requisite for the fall “Seeking Everyday Holiness” class, there will be a limited number of spaces in the “Seeking Everyday Holiness” class, and participants in “A Taste of Mussar” will have the first opportunity to register.
