When my husband read an early draft of this essay, he asked, "Why doesn't her partner have to support our daughter? After all, they agreed to raise children as Jews." What does it mean to raise a Jewish child?
A great way for Jewish professionals and volunteers who work with and provide programming for people in interfaith relationships to locate resources and trainings to build more welcome into their Jewish communities; connect with and learn from each other; and publicize and enhance their programs and services.
B'nai Or is hosting ticketless High Holiday services for both children and adults! Our Children's (10 and younger) and Families Service will led by Rabbi Lev Baesh and Singer/Songwriter Sue Horowitz. (Note: our adult service will begin at 10AM, and ALL children regardless of age are welcome to attend that service as well.)
To remain consistent with our values of inclusiveness and community, there is no need to buy tickets or pay any money to attend our Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services. Everyone is welcome!
