| About Us |
With exciting day camps and travel camps, short-term sleepaway, specialty camps and camps for children with developmental disabilities, the 92nd Street Y has a program tailor-made for your child's interests and needs. Children grades K through 9 can enjoy programs that help develop their imaginations and individual abilities while enhancing their self-esteem. Most campers travel to Rockland County daily on air-conditioned coach buses to participate in 2 daily swims, sports, specialized arts, nature, ropes course, and more.
Since 1955 CAMP YOMI (entering kindergarten-4th grade) has been providing a memorable camp experience in a rustic woodland setting in Rockland County (just 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge). Older campers move from Yomi into CAMP HAVERIM (entering 5th & 6th). Both camps offer sports, specialized arts, ceramics, 2 daily swims, climbing tower/ ropes course, digital photo and video, tennis, special theme days, visiting artists, cookouts, overnights and trips for older campers, and so much more! Campers leave with a sense of accomplishment, new friends, new skills and memories that keep them coming back year after year! We also offer a 6 week specialty camp for science and nature (CAMP TEVAH, ages 8-11), and week-long intensives in baseball, basketball, and film-making. In addition, TRAILBLAZERS (entering 7th-9th grades) combines daily excursions with a 4-day trip each session. Campers experience a wide range of exciting and challenging adventures including white water rafting, amusement parks and more!
CAMP KESHER AND KESHER JR. (entering 2nd-6th grade) is our unique program providing first time sleepaway campers the perfect opportunity to "get their feet wet" and test their independence. Campers participate in a full range of camp activities for either one or two weeks at the New Jersey Y Camps in Milford, PA and transition from day to sleepaway camp with warm, nurturing staff.
Finally, CAMP TOVA (ages 6-13) and CAMP BARI TOV (ages 5-13) serve children with various developmental disabilities. We provide children with an exciting camp experience within a nurturing and supportive environment. Each day our campers are transported by comfortable, air-conditioned buses, to and from our campgrounds in Rockland County. They participate in a variety of camp activities, especially designed to foster each child's emotional, social, and physical growth. Our counselors and specialists have a strong background in special education and are committed to providing each child with a positive and rewarding summer experience. Our small camper to staff ratio ensures that each camper receives individualized attention.
