- Micah is vibrant, diverse, and inspiring! Espousing the values of liberal Judaism, our services are musical, our educational opportunities stimulating, and our social gatherings fun. Micah's campus includes a nationally recognized sanctuary, cemetery, chapel, social hall, library, patio, playground, and classroom space for a bustling school. Our weekly intergenerational programming begins with bagels at Religious School on Sundays. After morning services at 9:30 a.m., our teaching staff implements creative curricula for students of all ages. Family Education Programs provide opportunities for parents, grandparents and students to learn together. After school, members of the spirited Micah Kids Choir gather for sessions of song and fun. Additional formal and informal learning opportunities exist in events run by our Youth Groups (MiTY & Middle MiTY). Jewish life at Micah exists all week. The Sisters at Sinai women's Torah study meets over lunch on Tuesdays. Our weekday Hebrew School, Micah Midweek, convenes on Wednesday afternoons, where students spend time eating, learning, and praying together. Parents are invited to study at the Rabbi's Tish (table) during class time, where people drop in for contemporary discussions on ancient texts. In preparation for becoming a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, candidates are tutored by one of our rabbis. On Thursdays, our wisest members gather for Schmooze and Views, a weekly study and discussion group. As Shabbat arrives, Jewish life at Micah, like the city of Jerusalem, comes alive in song. Friday Night services include traditional, contemporary, and original musical settings of Shabbat liturgy. Saturday Morning our community gathers for Torah study at 9:30 a.m., followed by services at 10:30 a.m. On the first Sabbath of the month, our youngest members (Micah MINIS) gather for services, oneg, and an art project. Synaplex also takes place on the first Shabbat of the month, where programming for all factions of the community makes Shabbos come alive! An inclusive community, Micah welcomes you to visit and see all we have to offer, as all of our services are open and free to the public.
