Congregation Or Atid is a Conservative synagogue. We are a warmly welcome interfaith families.
Congregation Or Atid is also an egalitarian, education-oriented Conservative Congregation that lights a path for over 150 families seeking a meaningful, engaging Jewish life in MetroWest Boston. We offer an intimate environment for prayer and a commitment to making the synagogue experience accessible within the tradition of Conservative Judaism.
Services at Or Atid are warm and highly participatory. Led by Rabbi Sally Finestone, with the assistance of many active members of the congregation, Shabbat services at Or Atid offer a spiritual, intellectual and emotional connection to Judaism with their mix of traditional prayer, Torah study, singing, and community.
Or Atid's commitment to lifelong Jewish learning sets the tone for innovative education programs for the whole family. Religious School classes for children from kindergarten through middle school offer an exciting educational experience that nurtures each student's Jewish growth and identity while Adult Education activities offer a variety of classes, workshops, special events, and outside learning opportunities. The Or Atid philosophy centers on the creation of a Jewish learning community dedicated to the needs of our members.
In keeping with the Jewish teachings of G'milut Hasadim (acts of loving kindness) and Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), Or Atid's Community Service program provides opportunities for members to be engaged in community service and social action activities. The Social Action Committee organizes and mobilizes the Or Atid community for a variety of activities and provides information concerning other opportunities for members to volunteer time for Jewish and other causes in the greater Boston area.
