About Us

"Knowing how to read Hebrew and understanding the basic concepts and traditions of Judaism is what now keeps our religion and culture alive. The Torah tells us that it is everyone's duty to pass on knowledge, history and traditions -- I'm just doing my part."

Jewish Essentials is a dynamic business that reaches out to families who are searching for more Jewish identity in their homes and lives. Families who for one reason or another do not choose to join a temple, and members of smaller congregations that may not have the resources or enough participants for a Hebrew school.

Jewish Essentials was established by Seth Novoselsky as a Bar/Bat Mitzvah training and officiating service. We offer one-on-one and group lessons in Bar/Bat Mitzvah training, reading Hebrew and the basics of Judaism.

Seth Novoselsky attended Maimonidies School in Brookline, Mass., studied Judaic Studies at New York University, and has taught many students in the North Shore area for their Bar and Bat Mitzvot since 1988. He has also worked as the Baal Koreh (Torah Reader) on Sabbath mornings at Temple Beth El in Quincy, Mass.
