JIRS is a one stop place to answer questions about anything Jewish and non-Jewish in the Metropolitan Washington DC area. This 18 year old agency provides two welcoming programs for families: ShalomDC for newcomers to the area, and ShalomBaby, to welcome new parents.
The JIRS comprehensive database of everything Jewish in the Metropolitan Washington area (Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia) is available on their website at www.jirs.org.
Other programs provided include a furniture donation program, a roommate referral service, a child and elder care referral service, and they manage the Career Center and the Community Calendar for The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.
