MWJDS was founded in the spring of 2001 by a group of interested families seeking to create an excellent school where intensive Judaic and secular studies would be offered in a warm, pluralistic environment, reflecting the special nature of our Metrowest community. MWJDS, the 14th Jewish day school in the Boston area, opened its doors in September 2003 at the former Juniper Hill elementary school in Framingham, which is centrally located in the Metrowest area. We were awarded a Prestigious Challenge Grant by Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education (PEJE), an organization devoted to founding excellent new day schools. MWJDS is a member of The Network of Jewish Community Day Schools (RAVSAK), a beneficiary agency of the Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP), and receives support from CJP and the Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Boston (BJE).
