Stephen S. Wise Temple was started by Rabbi Isaiah Zeldin and 35 families over 40 years ago. Today, under the leadership of Rabbi Eli Herscher, we have grown to more than 3,200 member families. At first glance, our Temple may seem large, but there are many ways of getting involved and building deep and lasting relationships with other congregants. The Temple is alive every day and night with worship services, classes for adults and children, and congregant committee meetings. As a Member you'll find a variety of social, political, and cultural programs, along with events ranging from singles groups to havurot (a group of Temple friends). Stephen S. Wise Temple is a Reform Congregation and a member of the Union for Reform Judaism.
