Rabbi Mychal will be leading us in a discussion of interfaith relationships throughout Jewish history and the present challenges and opportunities they pose. This discussion will provide a foundation for the second part of the series in which we will explore the many realities of interfaith relationships, including challenges we have faced and our varied approaches to our own interfaith experiences.
A great way for Jewish professionals and volunteers who work with and provide programming for people in interfaith relationships to locate resources and trainings to build more welcome into their Jewish communities; connect with and learn from each other; and publicize and enhance their programs and services.
The Interfaith Union is a resource center for Jewish and Christian people who are dating or intermarried which provides educational support, mentoring, community and formation for these individuals and for the clergy and religious communities that serve them. Its goals include:
-To provide a safe, vibrant and nurturing environment for a community of interfaith families;
-To provide educational activities for interfaith families and those interested in interfaith issues;
-To respond to the needs of these families and the issues they face, be it in relation to their parents, grandparents, children or some other entity;
-To provide a means to interact with those supportive religious communities and to respond to the requests and concerns of clergy in their support of these families.
