About Us:

The Sholem Community is a secular and progressive Jewish educational, cultural and social institution. A tradition for over sixty years, Sholem celebrates the diversity of Jewish culture, traditions and families in a social, non-religious atmosphere. Sholem offers a secular Sunday school for children 4-17, a monthly parent & me group, a unique Bar/Bas Mitsve program, seminars, screenings and other activities for adults and young adults, and culturally meaningful humanistic observances of Jewish holidays. Says Education Director Hershl Hartman, “At Sholem, we don’t merely accept intercultural families. We don’t merely welcome them. We celebrate the diversity they bring to our community!” Sholem meets most Sundays throughout the school year from 10am-12:30pm on the campus of Westside Neighborhood School in Playa Vista. (Enter from rear of building, off Coral Tree Place.) Visitors are always welcome!
