Dr. Gerson was a surgeon at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago for 26 years, caring for children of all ages including newborns. Her husband and daughter are Reform Rabbis. She is comfortable working with interfaith families and will officiate at a bris ceremony for an interfaith family if the child will be raised as a Jewish child.
