Resource Center for Program Providers

InterfaithFamily.com's Resource Center for Program Providers

  • provides resources to professionals and volunteers who conduct Jewish outreach programs for people in interfaith relationships
  • connects program providers with each other and with program participants and alumni
  • advocates for expansion of outreach programs.

The Resource Center evolved from InterfaithFamily.com's Professionals Advisory Circle, which operated from February 2005 to January 2008 and held a conference/retreat in May 2007.

Program providers who participate in the Resource Center are listed on InterfaithFamily.com's Connections In Your Area system.

If you are a program provider who is interested in participating in or learning more about the Resource Center, please contact connections@interfaithfamily.com.

Resources

Resources that are or will become available include:

  • A program bank of materials, submitted by program providers for program providers, designed to facilitate easy replication of successful programs
  • Model documents, for example synagogue booklets that welcome interfaith families
  • Content packets of InterfaithFamily.com articles with discussion questions for use in programs
  • Guides and tips on program-related topics including marketing, Internet marketing, and fundraising
  • Articles written by program providers about their work
  • Substantive papers on topics of interest, for example different psychological theories of Jewish identity
  • Audio recordings of past conference call presentations.

Connections

The Resource Center provides opportunities for program providers to connect in a number of ways:

  • To each other, in a listserv, through which they can share information, ideas and advice
  • To program participants and prospects, in our Connections In Your Area system, through which they can publicize their organization and programs.

The Program Providers section below lists professional and volunteer program providers, with links to their pages on InterfaithFamily.com's Connections In Your Area system, making it easy for providers to find each other. InterfaithFamily.com's social networking platform, to become available later in 2008, will facilitate these connections.

Advocacy

The Resource Center advocates for expansion of outreach programs in a number of ways:

  • through advocacy writing, such as our November 2006 Forward op-ed (with Kathy Kahn) encouraging funders to replicate the Boston federation's funding of outreach programs
  • through public speaking at conferences and individual Jewish organizations
  • in private meetings with federation and foundation leaders.
