Thank you so much, Vicki, for your thoughtful examination of my bible stories. I do a lot of research and base much of my retellings on midrash. I also enjoy listening to the rabbinical interpretations of Bible stories during Shabbat morning Torah study. My fascination for the Benjamin story came years ago, after hearing a rabbi discuss it during services. It was a treat to have the opportunity to retell the story in Benjamin and the Silver Goblet. Thank you for reading my books to your children and for writing about them at length in this article. I am happy to tell you that a new bible story is in the works for 2010, tentatively entilted Miriam in the Desert. I hope you'll watch for it. I look forward to hearing your response.
