Dear Barbara,

Thank you for the fantastic suggestions for nurturing the Jewish identity of grandchildren in interfaith families! I would also like to suggest the book Twenty Things for Grandparents of Interfaith Grandchildren to Do (and Not Do) to Nurture Jewish Identity in Their Grandchildren by Rabbi Kerry Olitzky and Paul Golin of the Jewish Outreach Institute.

The Jewish Outreach Institute offers the Grandparents Circle program to give grandparents the tools they need to nurture the Jewish identities of grandchildren in interfaith homes. This program includes a national listserve, a five-session course available in many communities in the United States and Canada, and a website. To learn more about how the Jewish Outreach Institute supports grandparents of grandchildren in interfaith homes, visit the Grandparents Circle website at www.grandparentscircle.org.
