Jewish Learning Courses in Toronto

It was recommended to me and my fiance to take a Jewish Information Course by a Rabbi (not our officiant). The course looks really interesting and I am very interested in learning the content, however the work load seems great, with mid terms and a final exam along with written assignments. With a full time job, and trying to plan a wedding and finding a house, we've already have our hands full!

Does any one know of any other options in the Toronto Area?
Is this normally a pre-requisite to be married by a Rabbi?
