InterfaithFamily (IFF) is seeking an Outreach and Engagement Manager in the Boston area. The full-time Outreach and Engagement Manager will take over at an exciting time for InterfaithFamily, building on our success and past work in Boston as an innovation hub for InterfaithFamily and help expand our impact with interfaith couples and families and support organizations to become more inclusive. Programming will be targeted in those areas where many young couples live, such as Cambridge, Somerville, Jamaica Plain, and surrounding communities. This position will also work with InterfaithFamily’s Chief Program Officer to build out our national program offerings, through the work they do in the Greater Boston area.

The ideal candidate will be outgoing and empathetic, have a deep understanding of the needs and experiences of Jewish interfaith couples, and bring substantial program planning and engagement experience in building relationships and relevant programs for interfaith couples and families.

Job Responsibilities:

The Outreach and Engagement Manager will be responsible for connecting with interfaith families and couples, connecting couples and families to one another, and to Jewish institutions and professionals that could be the right fit for them.

  • Community engagement: Develop relationships with interfaith couples and families with young children including those who come through IFF’s officiation referral service, sign up for our email series, connect over social media or other avenues.
  • Design, develop and facilitate programs that meet the needs of:
    • Interfaith couples to build connections with others like them
    • Parents with young children to supplement our parenting email series
  • Connect people to IFF’s offerings and to other programs in the Boston Jewish community
  • Collaborate with organizations who are also serving these populations, like Honeymoon Israel, JCC, Keshet, One Table, and others
    • Co-sponsor or develop complementary programs
    • Support their efforts to be inclusive of interfaith couples and families and provide professional development with support from IFF’s Director of Professional Development
  • Build community presence and visibility for IFF by attending young adult or young family events and other means
  • Monitor the budget for the program
  • Collect feedback from couples on their experiences
  • Record and track activities for reporting purposes
  • Document the process, program design, and outcomes so that we can replicate the programs in the future

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A deep understanding of the needs and experiences of Jewish interfaith couples and families with young children
  • Substantial program design and implementation experience
  • Outgoing, warm and empathetic with an ability to network and build relationships
  • Entrepreneurial and creative thinker, ability to dig in and turn ideas into reality
  • Community organizing, outreach, or other engagement work a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and follow through
  • Ability to build trust, be a “connector” and have customer experience orientation
  • Ability to adjust to dynamically changing priorities, manage multiple resources, innovate and learn new tools and processes, pitch in and “get hands dirty” in small non-profit environment
  • Collaborative working style, forward thinking, detail oriented, ready to take ownership, flexible, persistent and persuasive
  • Comfortable with new technologies and proficient with standard office products and software

This program requires some availability during nights and weekends, as well as travel throughout the Boston metropolitan area. This position will report to the Associate Director of Your Community Initiative and be based in Newton, MA. Salary: $55,000-$65,000.
