Dear Friends,

Against the backdrop of the recent Pew survey, which highlights yet again the critical importance of engaging interfaith families in Jewish life and community, we have three exciting developments to share with you:

  • After a careful search with help from our Board, funders, staff and outside consultants, Jodi Bromberg has joined us as InterfaithFamily’s new President! Jodi’s addition to our senior-level staff will greatly increase our capacity to build on our existing successes, especially expanding the InterfaithFamily/Your Community initiative. Jodi will be based in our national office in Newton, relocating from the Philadelphia suburbs in mid-November, but she is already hard at work, transitioning into her new role. Please welcome her!
  • InterfaithFamily/Your Community is growing–with a generous grant from Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Boston, we launched InterfaithFamily/Boston, our fourth InterfaithFamily/Your Community, joining Chicago, Philadelphia and the San Francisco Bay Area. We’re thrilled to have hired Joshua Troderman as Director of InterfaithFamily/Boston. Joshua is the co-founder and creator of JChoice.org which he designed to strengthen Jewish identities among the next generation through creative mitzvah projects. Joshua has a strong background in Jewish communal engagement, including a Master’s degree in education from The William Davidson Graduate School of Education at The Jewish Theological Seminary. Please welcome him!
  • Finally, we’re very proud to announce that we’ve been selected for inclusion in the ninth annual Slingshot guide, recognized for the third year as a Standard Bearer. Selected from among hundreds of finalists reviewed by 83 professionals with expertise in grant-making and Jewish communal life, Slingshot explains that “InterfaithFamily leads the conversation and demands a place for interfaith families in Jewish communal life.” The guide also gave a hat tip to our InterfaithFamily staff, calling them “a talented and unbelievably persistent team.” We always knew we had a great team here, but it’s nice when someone else notices, too!

As always, we appreciate your support and interest, and welcome your feedback. Please feel free to forward this Update to anyone who might be interested in our work.

With best regards,

Edmund C. Case, CEO
